Becoming a Personal assistant
As a Personal Assistant (PA), many of your tasks will be similar to those of a Care Assistant. However, you will work directly with individuals whom you have chosen to support and who have chosen you.
Working as a Personal Assistant is a fulfilling and rewarding profession, involving engagement in many aspects of your client’s life, which may include support at home, during leisure activities, or at work. Your duties will be varied and not limited to personal care.
This role can be particularly appealing to retired individuals who have time to spare or families with young children, as it offers flexibility around school or work hours. The enjoyable and diverse nature of the tasks ensures that there are responsibilities suited to everyone.
More and more clients want choice and control over the support they receive, they want to be able to form professional relationships with the people that support them, rather than the traditional model of Domiciliary care services. They want value for money and personalised support. PA’s benefit from choosing who they want to support, you will command better rates of pay and select your own working hours.
